Experimental Data Set: The Moderating Role of Deceiver's Social Class in the Effect of Deception on Trust

This dataset includes data from five studies:Study 1: Data were collected through the Naodao Research Platform(www.naodao.com). Due to the manipulation of social status involving participants' personal income information, we recruited 164 non-college adult participants. Among them, 11 did not pass the attention checks and rule verification, resulting in a final valid sample of 153 participants (79 females, 74 males).Study 2: Data were collected through the Naodao Research Platform, recruiting 194 non-college adult participants. Ten participants did not pass the attention checks and rule verification, leaving a final valid sample of 184 participants (93 females, 91 males).Study 3: Data were collected via the Credamo platform (www.credamo.com), with 192 non-college adult participants. Ten participants failed the attention checks and material verification, resulting in a final valid sample of 182 participants (74 females, 108 males).Study 4: Data were gathered through the Credamo platform, recruiting 180 non-college adult participants. Eight participants did not pass the attention checks and rule verification, leading to a final valid sample of 172 participants (74 females, 98 males).Study 5: Data were also collected via the Credamo platform, with 176 non-college adult participants. Eleven participants failed the attention checks and rule verification, resulting in a final valid sample of 165 participants (73 females, 92 males).
