Both age and social environment shape the phenotype of ant workers

The aim of this study was to disentangle the effect of caste and age on ant physiology by analysing their metabolome and proteome. For this purpose, we designed an experiment with four groups : young foragers (Y.F), old foragers (O.F), young nest-workers (Y.NW) and old nest-workers (O.NW). We provide raw proteomics and metabolomics data, data after curation (as used for the statistical analyses); part of the statistical analysis and relevant references for the biologocial processes involved.
