资源简介:
Samples from Site 42SA 17725 in southeast Utah were analyzed for pollen and
macrofloral remains. This site is believed to represent a habitation site and consisted of pit
structures, fire hearths, and a midden deposit. Radiocarbon dates obtained on charred material
and wood from the various features suggest that the site was occupied during the Late
Archaic/Basketmaker II interval, with calibrated dates ranging from 405 B.C to A.D. 160. Pollen
and macrofloral analyses are used to address research questions within the paleoenvironment
and subsistence problem domains. These problem domains address the questions of prehistoric
environmental conditions at the time of the site's occupation and identification of plant resources
procured and processed by the prehistoric site occupants
