The microbial communities of a glacial fed river, North River, near Thule, Greenland were investigated throughout an entire melt season (June - Sept) in 2011. Amplicons were generated from DNA and cDNA, using primers specific to the V4 region of 16S rRNA genes. River water likely comprises of supraglacial, subglacial and periglacial influenced components.
