This research projects generates a mouse transcriptional and chromatin state atlas to characterise age-related molecular changes. We are collecting and analysing transcriptomes and epigenetic profiles for 40 distinct cell types in young and old mice with the aim to understand common and cell-type specific age-related changes, in particular alterations affecting the transcription factor network underpinning cellular identity and function. The project has the potential to reveal strategies to directly restore youthful function in aged cells.
