Description of the first two human cases of infection with Helicobacter zhangjianzhongii, a new Helicobacter closely related to Helicobacter canis.

Helicobacter zhangjianzhongii was proposed in 2023 as a new species in the Helicobacter genus. Here are two first human cases of H. zhangjianzhongii bacteremia. Case 1 involved a 58-year-old woman hospitalized in a thoracic oncology unit for altered general condition in the setting of small-cell carcinoma. Case 2 involved a 78-year-old woman on rituximab who was hospitalized for chest pain, anemia and inflammatory syndrome.
