ARC - Dune Erosion Experiment UNSW - Conti, Splinter, Booth, Djadjiguna, Turner

Data collected during the ARC funded dune erosion experiments at UNSW Sydney Water Research Laboratory. The purpose of the study was to investigate the moisture and groundwater dynamics associated with dune-face failures under various wave conditions, water levels and initial dune moisture content. Data repository includes all dune profiles collected with LIDAR, seaward profiles collected along glass flume length, offshore and onshore wave data of all tests. Moisture and pore pressure data and raw swash collected for the test cases presented in the paper entitled: "Observations on the Role of Internal Sand Moisture Dynamics in Dune Face Erosion" currently under review in Geomorphology Journal. Furthermore, dataset includes videos showcasing Type 1 Failures: unsaturated shear failure in the absence of notching - showcasing the hypothesized phenomenon of excess pore pressure leading to dune face failures in the lab experiments and in the field.
