Two field accessions of a single cacao cultivar were noted to differ in resistance to the oomycete pathogen Phytophthora palmivora. The phyllosphere microbiomes were sequenced to determine whether differences in microbial diversity and/or the relative abundance of specific taxa could be responsible for the differences in resistance.
