资源简介:
Overview This repository contains the complete qualitative dataset and the analytical coding protocol supporting the manuscript "From Solidarity to Domestication: Transatlantic Divergence in Media Framing of the Russia-Ukraine War (2022–2026)". Dataset Description The dataset consists of a purposive, verified sample of 100 news articles published by eleven leading European and American media outlets (The New York Times, Washington Post, Fox News, CNN, The Guardian, Le Monde, Der Spiegel, El País, Corriere della Sera, The Times, and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung). The sample captures critical turning points across three distinct phases of the conflict: Phase 1: Initial Invasion (February 24 – April 30, 2022) Phase 2: War Fatigue Period (September 2022 – June 2023) Phase 3: Trump Administration Period (November 2024 – January 2026) Methodology & Codebook The analysis employs a qualitative, interpretivist framing approach based on the deductive application of Semetko and Valkenburg’s (2000) five generic news frames (Conflict, Responsibility Attribution, Economic Consequences, Human Interest, and Morality), complemented by Galtung’s (1986) war/peace journalism framework. The repository includes the comprehensive coding protocol (codebook) containing the exact indicators used to analyze the text and identify the dominant frames and domestication strategies.
