资源简介:
While extracellular vesicles (EVs) released during exercise have emerged as key mediators of intercellular communication, potentially playing a pivotal role in disease prevention and healthy aging, there is a notable research gap in understanding the specific mechanisms through which exercise induced EVs, particularly their cargo of microRNAs (miRNAs), contribute to these processes. Previous studies have shown the potential of EVs and their miRNA cargo in various biological processes, but their roles in the context of exercise and aging, especially in a healthy elderly population, remain incompletely elucidated. Plasma samples were obtained from a group of healthy elderly sportsmen. Exosomes and microvesicles were isolated from platelet-free-plasma samples. The miRNAs within the EV isolates were subsequently extracted and quantified using qPCR. Our study reveals a distinct miRNA signature within exercise-derived extracellular vesicles, with several miRNAs showing significant alterations following exercise. Notably, these exercise-induced miRNAs were found to be involved in pathways related to inflammation, oxidative stress, and cellular senescence, with potential implications for cancer. Exercise-derived EVs and their cargo miRNAs hold promise for promoting healthy aging and preventing age-related diseases. Further research is needed to fully explore their therapeutic potential and elucidate the mechanisms underlying their health-enhancing effects.
