This is a survey of the level of preparedness and fears of anaesthesia department staff regarding the management of COVID-19 patients in a low resource tertiary hospital in Zaria, Nigeria. During the period April 11-18, 2020 structured questionnaires were sent out by WhatsApp to physician anaesthetists, nurse anaesthetists, intensive care nurses, biomedical engineers and health assistants in ABUTH Zaria and those who consented filled and returned the questionnaires. Data obtained include age, gender, marital status, professional role, level of preparedness, availability of working materials/equipment, fear of COVID-19, level of stress, stigmatization and the willingness or otherwise to volunteer in the management of COVID-19 patients. Information collected were analyzed using SPSS version 21. The level of significance was set at p<0.05.
本调查旨在探讨尼日利亚扎里亚一家资源有限的乙级医院麻醉科工作人员在管理 COVID-19 患者方面的准备程度及恐惧感。在 2020 年 4 月 11 日至 18 日期间,通过 WhatsApp 发送结构化问卷至医师麻醉师、护士麻醉师、重症监护护士、生物医学工程师和健康助手,位于扎里亚的 ABUTH 医院及同意参与的受试者填写并返回问卷。收集的数据包括年龄、性别、婚姻状况、职业角色、准备程度、工作材料和设备的可用性、对 COVID-19 的恐惧感、压力水平、污名化程度以及是否愿意参与 COVID-19 患者的管理。所收集的信息采用 SPSS 版本 21 进行分析。显著性水平设定为 p<0.05。
