Sequencing of mitogenomes from Brachidontes pharaonis

To check the expression of divergent mitogenomes typically indicative of DUI, mantle RNA was extracted from three males and subject to RNA-seq. The assembled reads served as a source of mitogenomic sequences. LR-PCR primers were designed. Obtained amplicons were then used to construct Illumina sequencing libraries. Two separate libraries were sequenced, one per haplotype. Each resulted in one complete mitogenome, available under accession numbers ON464163 and ON464164.
