Winter Road & Runway Vulnerability & Adaptation Study

Wawakapewin First Nation relies on the cold winter weather to allow for the construction of the winter road and winter runway in order to access the community throughout the winter months. The reliability and duration of the winter road and runway is being impacted by climate change. The purpose of this project is to: (1) assess the vulnerability of Wawakapewin First Nation road and runway transportation system to climate change; and (2) identify potential climate change adaptation measures of Wawakapewin's transportation system.
