Research of fungal communities including phytopathogens in the near-surface atmosphere based on NGS methodology

Next-generation sequencing (NGS) methods open a new era in the study of phytopathogenic fungi in the atmospheric ecosystem. The combination of standard aerobiological techniques with NGS methods and the parallel use of standard and cyclone aerospore samplers situated at different locations will provide new insights into airborne fungal pathogens and their spatio-temporal variability.
