Assets of financial institutions in China 2012-2022, by institution type

In 2022, banks in China held assets valued almost 47 trillion U.S. dollars. The banking sector's assets account for the largest share of assets among financial institutions in the country. Compared to that, the Chinese central bank, the People's Bank of China, showed assets valued six trillion U.S. dollars on their balance sheet.
