Psychological Suzhi mediates the effect of teacher-student relationship on coping style of elementary school students in grades 4-6

We used a mediation model of psychological Suzhi to investigate the relationship between teacher-student relationships and the coping style of students in Grades 4–6. A cluster sampling method was used to survey 758 students in Grades 4–6 using the Simplified Coping Style Scale, the Teacher-Student Relationship Scale, and the Elementary School Psychological Suzhi Scale (Simplified Version) in an elementary school in China. Results show that teacher-student relationship had a direct predictive effect on students’ coping style, and the total effect value of the teacher-student relationship affected coping style through the mediating effect of psychological Suzhi. Psychological Suzhi plays a mediating role in the teacher-student relationship and coping style.
