资源简介:
The Minority Health Genomics and Translational Research Bio-repository Database (MHGRID) Network infrastructure facilitated the collection of biospecimens and related multidimensional data elements within a consortium of minority-serving clinics. This initiative expands the diversity of ancestral groups in national genomic medicine datasets and promises to accelerate the translation of personalized medicine into minority communities. MHGRID has an observational case-control design with severe hypertension as primary outcome. ]]>
INCLUSION CRITERIA Self-identified African-American males or females between the ages of 30 and 55 years. Cases: Individuals on 2 or more blood pressure lowering medication including 1 diuretic. Controls: Individuals with optimal blood pressure: ≤ 120/80 mmHg and normal kidney function (eGFR > 90 ml/min). EXCLUSION CRITERIA Failure to meet the inclusion criteria. Secondary forms of hypertension. Primary chronic kidney disease or proteinuria unrelated to hypertension. Chronic diseases that may secondarily compromise renal function such as diabetes, chronic congestive heart failure, HIV or liver disease. Patients with recent hospitalizations (< 3 months). Unable to give informed consent. Pregnant or lactating women. ]]>
The Minority Health Genomics and Translational Research Bio-Repository Database (MH-GRID) study, a multi-cohort case-control study of severe hypertension among African Americans, aged 30-55 years and from 8 locations in the Southern United States, recruited between April 2012 and September 2013. Informed consent was obtained from each contributing cohort and the study was approved by the contributing sites Research Oversight Committees, and by the National Institutes of Health Institutional Review Boards.]]>
