Effects of cover crops on bacterial and fungal communities in bulk soil in Prince Edward Island, Canada

Fungal and bacterial soil communities play various roles in agroecosystems and are significantly influenced by agricultural management practices. In this study, eight cover crops, three mixed crops, and an unmanaged fallow control were evaluated over two years for their effects on the bulk soil microbiome in PE, Canada. PacBio full length 16S and Illumina ITS sequencing was performed to study bacterial and fungal communities, respectively.
