Sequencing of viral nucleic acids produced during arbovirus infection of Aedes aegypti cells

Aedes aegypti mosquitoes spread pathogenic arthropod-borne viruses (arboviruses) to humans, such as dengue and yellow fever viruses, while themselves tolerating the infection. Aedes aegypti's antiviral defense relies on the production of virus-derived small RNA molecules. Our study identifies different viral small RNA and DNA molecules produced during arboviral infection of Aedes aegypti cells and their association with one specific mosquito antiviral factor.
