资源简介:
Sarrples from St. Mary's Lake and from outcrops of Pleistocene glacial Lake
Missoula sediments in northwestern Montana were examined for wood/charcoal and
plant material. These macrobotanical remains are potential radiocarbon sarrples.
Wood/charcoal and plant material were identified in order to determine what types
of trees were present in these areas of Montana, as well as to identify types of
remains used for radiocarbon dating. Single samples from a post-Mazama ash
deposit at St. Mary's Lake and from Pleistocene glacial Lake Missoula were
examined for pollen to ascertain variety and concentration of pollen preserved.
