Headache Burden and Care Gaps in Active-Duty Military Personnel

This dataset stems from the first systematic study on primary headache disorders in the German armed forces (Bundeswehr). A total of 1,189 active-duty service members participated in an anonymous online survey conducted between May and July 2023. The 33-item questionnaire collected information on demographics, headache types based on the International Classification of Headache Disorders, 3rd edition (ICHD-3), diagnostic awareness, treatment history, and headache-related disability (MIDAS score). The dataset supports analyses on impact of primary headaches in military populations and underscores the need for improved diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.
