Molecular epidemiology of carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae in Asia

The purpose of this project is to investigate whether and to what extent infections caused by carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae are expanding in Asia; to identify plasmids and its carrying carbapenemase genes responsible for the resistance; to unveil the mechanism whereby resistant bacteria spread in this region.
