Two Chinese men at a Pasadena house, 1896 April 20. The image shows the two, one in a traditional Chinese hairstyle and wearing a long white work coat and the other in traditional black shirt and trousers with a flat-brim hat and both wearing Chinese slippers, standing at the bottom of steps leading to an open door at a screened porch. They were likely servants standing at their service entrance to the white wood-sided residence of at least two stories. In ink on the reverse is: "C.A. Bond / 270 Congress St. / Pasadena / Cal. / Apr 20th 96." Bond was apparently the owner of the residence and employer of the two men. With trimmer corners, small stains, soiling and edge rubbing, the overall condition is good.
