资源简介:
We used electric cell-substrate impedance sensing (ECIS) to identify clinical isolates of Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Enterococcus against a bladder epithelia cell monolayer and their response to antibiotics. Treatment with antibiotics at concentrations meeting the minimal inhibitory concentrations removed the threat to the bladder epithelia, but did not necessarily correlate with ECIS readings. Bacterial virulence traits were further assessed by next-generation sequencing. This information can be complemented with nucleotide sequence analysis to identify virulence factors to provide specific means for treatment in suppressing tissue damage and further infection.
