Synthetic Ground-Motion Records for 100 Bridge Sites in Indiana

This dataset contains synthetic ground-motion time histories from scenario earthquakes generated for 100 bridge sites across the State of Indiana. As part of the Joint Transportation Research Program (JTRP) project SPR-4222 supported by the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), these synthetic ground motions were used as the seismic input for the vulnerability assessment of Indiana’s bridge network. All ground motions were generated for a return period of ~1000 years (7% probability of exceedance in 75 years) using stochastic and deterministic simulation techniques. These synthetic records constitute a valuable tool for future research projects related to seismic risk assessment of civil infrastructure in the Central and Eastern United States (CEUS).
