The radiometric method of remote sensing of the earth surface is considered. It is shown that microwave radiometers make it possible to determine various parameters of the investigated surface, in particular, soil moisture and temperature, ground and subsoil water table, biomass of vegetation cover, etc. The method can be used in various fields of national economy. Schemes and designs of microwave radiometers, their installation on unmanned aerial vehicles and ground carriers are presented. The results of full-scale tests of radiometers are presented. The prospect of using microwave radiometers in the national economy is substantiated.
