Whole-genome resequencing of two Yakut and Kholmogory cattle breeds from Russia

This study focuses on comparison of resequenced genomes from two cold-adapted native cattle breeds from Russia, the Kholmogory and Yakut cattle. These distinct populations were compared to their phylogenetically closest breeds, taurine and indicine cattle and other bovinae species to identify signatures of selection, high-frequency SNPs and copy number variants that could have influence on their biology.
