The hidden side of galaxy clusters\: diffuse emission in the HETDEX field

The origin of diffuse radio sources, socalled cluster radio halos and relics isstill shrouded in mystery. The LOFAR TwoMetre Sky Survey of the 350 sq degHETDEX field is breaking new ground in the study of diffuse radio sources as itshows diffuse emission in a large fraction of the SZdetected clusters in thatarea. In particular, it has revealed diffuse radio sources in a number oflowmass clusters. While this field has good multiwavelength coverage, there isrelatively little Xray data of the clusters that host this newly discoveredemission.
