Czech Microbarograph Network

The Czech Microbarograph Network (CMN) is a permanent network operated by the Institute of Atmospheric Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences. The main purpose of the network is a continuous monitoring of infrasound and collecting data for scientific research. After the testing period, the first infrasound array of the network, PVCI started its operation in May 2014. The aperture of the array is 200 m. PVCI was equipped with three differential sensors of the type Infrasound Gage ISGM03 from May 2014 to October 2023. The station was upgraded in October 2023, three absolute sensors Paroscientific 6000-16B-IS-LN were deployed. The array geometry remained unchanged. The second array, WBCI started its operation in September 2016. WBCI is a large aperture array with inter-element distances of 4-10 km; it is equipped with four absolute microbarographs Paroscientific 6000-16B-IS. The continuous records of pressure fluctuations from both arrays are acquired in near real time and are stored in the data centre of the Institute of Atmospheric Physics, CAS. Waveform data in the MiniSEED format are shared into the database of the Central and Eastern European Infrasound Network.
