The dataset provides single-cell RNA sequencing data from male and female chicken embryos collected at four developmental stages: 0h, 12h, 24h, and 48h. To minimize individual variation, samples at each stage were pooled from multiple embryos. The dataset includes two files: raw_feature_bc_matrix and filtered_feature_bc_matrix, both derived from the original sequencing data (FASTQ files) through alignment and quantification. These files contain the raw count values of specific genes across individual cells. raw_feature_bc_matrix: This file represents an unfiltered sparse gene expression count matrix, containing raw count data for all detected cell barcodes and genes. It includes all captured data, encompassing potential background noise and low-quality cells, and serves as a baseline for downstream quality control and filtering. filtered_feature_bc_matrix: This file represents a filtered sparse gene expression count matrix, containing raw count data exclusively for high-quality cell barcodes and genes. By removing background noise and low-quality cells, it is optimized for downstream analyses such as clustering and differential gene expression studies. This dataset provides a comprehensive foundation for investigating embryonic development and sex differences in chickens.
