Large disagreements in estimates of urban land across scales and their implications

This repository includes country wise, grid wise, and region wise summaries of urban land cover from various global estimates for the past, present, and future (in csv format). MODIS: Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer Land Cover Type Version 6.1 Countries_urban_area_highres_revise/ESA: European Space Agency Climate Change Initiative Land Cover GISA: Global impervious surface area CGLS: Copernicus Global Land Service Dynamic Land Cover map WSF: World Settlement Footprint Esri: Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc land Cover ESA WorldCover:European Space Agency WorldCover Dyn: Dynamic World GUF: Global Urban Footprint GAIA: Global Annual Impervious Area WSE: World Settlement Evolution GLC10: Finer Resolution Observation and Monitoring of Global Land Cover 10m GHSL: Global Human Settlement Layer Estimates of the surface urban heat island intensity (SUHI) and urban areas in flood zones are also provided in csv format. The geotiff files are raster images of urban land cover for two highly urbanized regions (Shanghai, China and Delhi, India). Finally, the .js files are Earth Engine scripts to process the global datasets.
