Recent Xray and optical observations suggest that the supersoft ultraluminousXray source in NGC 247 is an interesting candidate for an intermediate massblack hole, based on the fact that emission from an unusually cool and luminousaccretion disk can explain multiwavelength data across 3 orders of magnitudes inwavelength. If the disk interpretation is valid, the source is predicted to beUVluminous.
