Survey of Candidates about Primary School Teacher Education

The Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance in Education (NOKUT) has conducted an evaluation of primary school teacher education programs for grades 1–7 and 5–10 (GLU 1–7 and GLU 5–10). The survey was carried out among candidates who completed their education between 2020 and 2022. This includes candidates from both the new and old curricula, allowing for comparison between the two groups.

The survey is based on the evaluation's four main themes:
• Master's theses
• Academic environments
• Integrated, research-based, and profession-oriented education
• The structure and design of primary school teacher education programs

The survey aims to provide NOKUT, the sector, and other stakeholders with information on important aspects of the quality of primary school teacher education programs. Furthermore, the evaluation offers institutions and authorities a knowledge base that can be used to assess if and how the quality development in GLU can best be followed up.
