Beetles (Insecta: Coleoptera) from the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta deposited in the Centro de Colecciones Biológicas of the Universidad del Magdalena

This dataset compiles information from 2963 biological records corresponding to 13586 individuals of beetles (Insecta: Coleoptera) deposited in the Biological Collection of the University of Magdalena. The dataset includes representatives of the families Passalidae and Curculionidae, as well as the subfamily Scarabaeinae. The specimens are preserved either as dry-mounted material or in ethanol and were collected from nine sampling stations located in different localities of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia, spanning an elevational gradient from 0 to 2000 m above sea level (m a.s.l.). The dataset includes taxonomic, spatial, temporal, and curatorial information associated with each record. The generation of these data was funded by the Ministerio de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación de Colombia (Minciencias), the Colombia BIO program, the Francisco José de Caldas Fund, and the Universidad del Magdalena.
