This RLBJ inventory describes the event landslide inventory map produced to record the hazard effects of the extreme rainfall that occurred in Beijing, China, in July 2023.
From July 29, 2023 to August 2, 2023, affected by the residual circulation of Super Typhoon Doksuri, a rare extreme rainfall event occurred in Beijing. The average precipitation across the city reached 331 mm over 83 hours. The maximum 83-hour cumulative precipitation recorded by the meteorological station was 744.8 mm. The rainfall center was located at the mountainous western areas of Beijing.
The RLBJ presented here is the result of extensive remote sensing analysis for the area most affected by the intense rainfall, covering approximately 3,250 square kilometers. The area of interest covers all mountainous areas within the Fangshan and Mentougou Districts, and the mountainous areas in the southwest of Changping District and the northwest of Haidian District in Beijing.
The inventory includes 15,383 landslide records across the mountainous western areas of Beijing, indicating an average density of about 4.7 landslides per square kilometer. The maximum landslide density in the study area reached 120 per square kilometer. The total area of all identified landslides is 19.3 square kilometers, representing 0.59% of the area of interest. The area of an individual landslide ranges from approximately 20 to 120,000 square meters.
This repository stores:
1. A map package of the final inventory, named “RLBJ_v1.0.mpk”, including 5 layers:
(1) A point shapefile of the landslide inventory, named “Point_RLBJ”
(2) A polygon shapefile of the landslide inventory, named “Polygon_RLBJ”
(3) A polygon shapefile of the administrative boundaries of Beijing, named “BJ_Boundary”
(4) A polygon shapefile of the rainfall distribution map for Beijing, named “Rainfall”
(5) A raster TIFF layer of the Digital Elevation Model (DEM) for Beijing, named “Terrain”
The .mpk file can be opened with ArcGIS software and saves the results after visualization processing.
2. A compressed file, named “RLBJ_v1.0_shapefiles.rar”, containing all original shapefiles:
(1) A point shapefile of the landslide inventory
(2) A polygon shapefile of the landslide inventory
(3) A polygon shapefile of the administrative boundaries of Beijing
(4) A polygon shapefile of the rainfall distribution map for Beijing
(5) A raster TIFF layer of the Digital Elevation Model (DEM) for Beijing
The contents of the shapefile in the compressed package are essentially the same as the corresponding layer in the map package. These shapefile files retain all attribute information and can be read in various GIS software platforms.
3. A PDF document, named “Field logs.pdf”, summarizing field survey photos:
This document summarizes the photos taken during the field verification process of landslides in the dataset. These photos cover a total of 403 landslides. The document also includes a comparison of field observation records and remote sensing interpretation records.
4. A PDF document, named “Metadata.pdf”, providing necessary explanations for attribute classification in the dataset
本RLBJ清单为针对2023年7月中国北京极端降雨灾害所编制的滑坡事件清单地图,用于记录此次极端降雨的致灾效应。
2023年7月29日至8月2日期间,受超强台风杜苏芮(Super Typhoon Doksuri)残余环流影响,北京地区发生罕见极端降雨事件。此次降雨过程持续83小时,全市平均降水量达331毫米;气象站点监测到的最大83小时累积降水量为744.8毫米,降雨中心位于北京西部山区。
本次发布的RLBJ清单是针对此次强降雨影响最严重区域开展大规模遥感分析(remote sensing analysis)的成果,覆盖范围约3250平方千米。研究区域涵盖北京房山、门头沟两区全部山区,以及昌平区西南部、海淀区西北部的山区地带。
该清单共记录北京西部山区15383处滑坡,平均滑坡密度约为每平方千米4.7处;研究区域内最大滑坡密度可达每平方千米120处。所有已识别滑坡的总面积为19.3平方千米,占研究区域总面积的0.59%;单处滑坡的面积范围约为20至120000平方米。
本数据集仓库包含以下内容:
