The Draft Genome of Dioscorea rotundata version 2 assembled with long-reads generated by Oxford Nanopore Technologies.

Guinea yam (Dioscorea rotundata) is one of the most important staple foods in West and Central Africa. Here we reconstructed the reference genome of D. rotundata with long-reads generated by PromethION sequencer of Oxford Nanopore Technologies, instead of mate-pair jump reads (in version 1). The contigs included in the reference genome were assembled by Flye assembler and polished by pilon.
