Supplementary Data for "Morphofunctional Spaces from the Astragalus: Exploring Angular Excursions and Mechanical Efficiency in Caraguatypotherium munozi (Notoungulata, Mesotheriidae)".

This dataset contains supplementary data supporting the study: "Morphofunctional Spaces from the Astragalus: Exploring Angular Excursions and Mechanical Efficiency in Caraguatypotherium munozi (Notoungulata, Mesotheriidae)". Supplementary file 1: Osteological measurements, functional indices, and estimated body mass of astragali from 38 extant mammals and mesotheriid species (Caraguatypotherium munozi and Trachytherus spegazzinianus), including definitions of all variables and biological factors. Supplementary file 2: Principal component analyses (PCA) results, including species morphospace positions, eigenvalues, and variable loadings for all astragalar indicators. These data were used to reconstruct morphofunctional spaces and interpret stance-phase locomotor strategies in mesotheriids.
