资源简介:
Blastocystis is a common intestinal parasite found in humans with extensive genetic diversity. Although several studies have shown the relationships between a specific subtype and gut microbiota, there is no study to show the effect of Blastocystis ST1 on gut microbiota and adaptive immune responses. In this study, mice were colonized with Blastocystis ST1 and then subjected to induced colitis through the oral administration of dextran sulfate sodium (DSS). Our results indicate that Blastocystis ST1, the predominant subtype in humans, colonization exerts beneficial effects on host health through modulating gut microbiota and adaptive immune responses.
