Sample output files from the E3SM Atmosphere Model (EAM)

This archive provides sample output files from multiple versions of the E3SM Atmosphere Model (EAM), along with associated grid connectivity files. The output files were produced using two versions of EAM: version 2 (file names starting with EAMv2) and an interim version towards version 4 (file names starting with EAMxx). The connectivity files for the horizontal grids are also included (file names starting with connectivity). Information about EAM’s cubed-sphere grids can be found in the model documentation including, for example, this overview and this description. The grids used here are the finite-volume physics grids described in Hannah et al. (2021). The connectivity files were generated using TempestRemap (Ullrich and Taylor, 2015; Ullrich et al., 2016).
