These data are the raw DNA sequence files that represent a 16S rRNA gene amplicon survey of the microbiomes from 15 samples of top-facing mesophotic coral (Orbicella franksi), along with sequence files for an extraction blank and reagent control to identify any outside contaminants. Samples were collected in 2014 at three sites of varying depths around St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands: Hind Bank, South Capella, and Savana. The purpose of this experiment was to compare the microbiomes of Orbicella franksi corals at varying depths.
