A dataset of meteorological observations at Hulunbuir Grassland Ecosystem National Field Scientific Observation and Research Station, Inner Mongolia (2006–2023)

Monitoring the local long-term meteorological elements is important for strengthening the short-term early warning of meteorological disasters, improving the regional disaster prevention and mitigation capacity, and studying the mechanism of ecosystem function change. The National Field Scientific Observation and Research Station of Hulunbuir Grassland Ecosystem in Inner Mongolia (Hulunbuir Station) is located in Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China, which has a mid-temperate continental grassland climate. From September 2006, long-term continuous monitoring of the meteorology in the station area was carried out through the installation of an automatic meteorological observation system, while strict data quality control and assessment of local key meteorological elements were carried out in accordance with the CERN norms for atmospheric environment observation This dataset contains 7 meteorological observation indexes, including atmospheric temperature, atmospheric humidity, precipitation, atmospheric pressure, wind speed, total radiation, photosynthetically active radiation, etc., for the Hulunbuir station area from 2006 to 2023, with a total of 208 monthly-scale data and 17 annual-scale data. This dataset, as a localized meteorological data of Hulunbuir grassland ecosystem, can provide basic data support for the study of localized grassland ecological process, the assessment of ecosystem service function and the early warning of weather disaster.
