Large-scale µCT dataset of Scots pine for moisture transport, infiltration, and decay studies
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains a large collection of high-resolution microtomography (µCT) scans of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris), acquired during a 3-year research project on moisture transport, material modification, and fungal decay. The dataset comprises approximately 1000 scans with a total size of 13.5 TB and includes three complementary experimental subsets: (1) hygrothermal experiments capturing moisture transport under controlled relative humidity conditions, (2) infiltration experiments monitoring time-dependent liquid uptake processes, and (3) fungal decay experiments involving exposure to Coniophora puteana and Rhodonia placenta. The data cover both sapwood and heartwood, multiple material treatments (untreated, thermally modified, acetylated), and different anatomical directions. Together, these datasets provide a comprehensive representation of wood structure, transport processes, and bio-deterioration. The dataset is largely unprocessed and includes both fully and partially completed experimental series, reflecting realistic experimental conditions and ongoing method development. It is intended for method development, image processing, and validation of numerical models of moisture transport and decay. Due to its size, the dataset is not fully hosted in Zenodo. Metadata and documentation are provided here, and full data access is available upon reasonable request. The dataset may be updated in future versions as additional analyses become available. Such derived datasets are expected to be released in smaller, directly accessible formats.
