Homegarden survey and plant species inventory - Limpopo Province, South Africa

A survey on the socioeconomic characteristics of smallholder homegardens (HG) in the Limpopo Province of South Africa. The survey was conducted in April-July 2017 in 128 households across 6 villages in the Mopani District of Limpopo Province. A semi-structured questionnaire was used to this purpose. In the present file, the cleaned dataset can be found.<br>Furthermore, a complete plant species inventory was conducted in all surveyed HG. This includes all species that were having a use according to the gardener (incl. ornamental species). A complete list of the recorded species will be made available soon. In the present file, abundance and plant density (per 100 m^2) is also included, as well as values for plant species richness, diversity (Shannon index and effective number of species) and evenness.<br>For further information please contact me at [e-mail]<br>
