资源简介:
This study aimed to investigate the acute effects of inhibitory Kinesio taping (iKt) on the activity of scapular muscles, scapular kinematics, and shoulder proprioception in healthy young adults. Twenty healthy volunteers were blindfolded and required to perform five active shoulder position sense tasks at 50° and 100° in frontal and scapular planes.
Surface electromyography and a 3-D motion capture system were synchronized to record the activity of the lower trapezius and serratus anterior muscles as well as humeral and scapular kinematics. Data were collected under two experimental conditions: no tape, and iKt.
Range of Motion (ROM) were calculated using Matlab. For each trial, the start and the end of the arm movement was determined by kinematic data analysis and identification of regions of interest.
Root Mean Squared (RMS) was calculated for EMG data, and normalization was calculated using Maximum Voluntary Isometric Contraction data previously acquired.
The results highlight the clinical significance of using iKt to increase PT, potentially reducing the risk of rotator cuff impingement during arm rising in the frontal plane. Moreover, supports considering motion planes as a factor for optimal shoulder function.
