New reference sequence of the maize B chromosome

Maize (Zea mays L.) is one of the most important crops. It serves as established model for biological research and the maize B chromosome has been studied for many decades. Here we present the improved reference sequence of the maize B chromosome. For the improvement of the reference sequence we integrated advanced sequencing technologies, including long-read sequencing and Hi-C library construction.
