Supplementary Data for Environmental Controls on Green Bands in Marine Sediments

This repository contains all supplementary datasets, tables, and derived products associated with the manuscript Environmental Controls on Green Bands in Marine Sediments. The collection includes sample geochemical measurements, age–depth models, global diagenetic survey results, coarse-fraction and pyrite analyses, sand-layer stratigraphy, HSV color-channel definitions, green-pixel intensity records, green-band depth picks, and the global benthic d13C stack used in the study. The dataset includes Tables S1–S9 as CSV files, covering: Benthic foraminiferal d18O and d13C measurements from IODP Site U1474 Age–depth tie points for Site U1474 A global survey of shallow sediment diagenesis and oxidative color transitions across the ocean basins Coarse-fraction, carbonate, and pyrite measurements from U1474F-5H3 Depths and thicknesses of sand layers at Site U1474 based on XRF Si/Al ratios HSV color-channel definitions used to isolate green pixels in core images Green-pixel percent records for Sites U1474 and U1313 Depth intervals and class assignments of green bands for both sites A global benthic d13C stack, including all constituent records, standardized at 1-ka resolution In addition, the repository includes two image-derived stratigraphic datasets (Datasets S1 and S2), containing raw core images, HSV-filtered images, green-pixel profiles, and band-depth annotations for Sites U1474 and U1313. Together, these files provide all analytical inputs and intermediate products necessary to reproduce the figures, analyses, and interpretations presented in the manuscript.
