资源简介:
This raw data was obtained from a behavioral research study investigating what sensory cues (visual, olfactory, auditory, or a combination of all three cues) owl monkeys (Aotus nancymaae) rely upon the most when they forage for insects at night. This study was conducted at the DuMond Conservancy for Primates and Tropical Forests, Inc. in Miami, Florida, where a total of 23 owl monkeys were observed. During each trial, two observers presented two boxes (an experimental box containing a specific insect cue and a control box controlling for this cue) to an enclosure, then recorded the behavioral responses of the owl monkeys. Other than enclosure 4, all of the enclosures underwent 16 trials: 4 visual, 4 olfactory, 4 auditory, and 4 multimodal (combination of all three cues). This dataset contains the recorded behavioral observations from each trial for each enclosure and owl monkey. In addition, the dataset contains a spreadsheet that combines all of the behavioral data and displays the averages, standard deviations, and ranges for each behavior.
