Metabarcoding analysis of pollen adherent to diverse bees from rural eastern North America

Pollinating bees provide critical ecosystem and agricultural services. Management of bees and the landscapes they inhabit benefits from a better understanding of their foraging behavior. Bees forage for pollen as a source of protein and other nutrients; the plant taxa visited by bees can be inferred by metabarcode sequencing of the pollen present on their bodies.
