CAARMS Follow-up adolescents

This database includes the raw data linked with the paper “Prognostic Accuracy of DSM-5 Attenuated Psychosis Syndrome in Adolescents: Prospective Real-World 5-Year Cohort Study” published on “Schizophrenia Bulletin”.

In this paper, we reported sociodemographic characteristics, family history of any DSM-5 psychiatric disorder, personal history of any DSM-5 psychiatric disorder, psychopathological assessment, and level of functioning. We aimed to characterize the profile of APS adolescents compared to adolescents suffering from early onset psychosis and with other psychiatric disorders and to estimate their long-term risk of transition to psychosis.

Participants were then divided into three groups: 1) adolescents with established Early Onset Psychosis (EOP), 2) adolescents meeting DSM-5 Attenuated psychotic Syndrome (APS) criteria and the attenuated psychotic symptoms subgroup of the Clinical High Risk for Psychosis (CHR-P), 3) adolescents with other DSM-5 psychiatric disorders who did not meet APS/EOP criteria.

We found that help-seeking adolescents with APS show a distinctive baseline clinical profile at baseline compared to non-APS and early psychosis adolescents. Moreover, the cumulative proportion of transition to psychosis in help-seeking APS adolescents was cumulated to 26.8% at 4-year follow-up.
