Microbial communities vitally involved in the mediation of ecosystem function in soils. Despite its importance, little is known about how soil bacterial and fungal community affect soil carbon and nitrogen mineralization rates in agricultural land-use change and management, especially in the tropics. Here we determined soil bacterial and fungal community after a longan orchard (LO) converted to an organic tea plantation (OTP) and a conventional tea plantation (CTP) in Hainan island, a tropical region of China.
